Facebook Timeline cover images are a great way to customize your Facebook Timeline. The size of these images are 851px by 315px have four overlaying elements. The first is your profile photo thumbnail that takes up a square section on the left side of your Facebook Timeline cover. The second is your name which sits to the right of your profile thumbnail and above the bottom of the Facebook Timeline Cover. The third and forth elements are buttons friends and message/settings. Also note that when a Timeline first loads it hides the first half of the Timeline cover and reveals only the bottom half just above the top of the profile image.
