Every month I make a CMG Mega Pack and I need new ideas to help inspire me. Even though I create moving graphics, I get my ideas from still images like photography, print design, graphic design and web design. I rarely look to other church media producers for inspiration, because I don’t want to replicate something that has already been done. I believe in taking creative risks and infusing new design ideas into church spaces.
Here are five websites I commonly visit to gather design ideas and store in Evernote for future reference.
1. Dribbble
Dribbble is a place to show and tell, promote, discover, and explore design. It is a community of designers that post what they are working on and are open to talk about it. Web designers, graphic designers, illustrators, icon artists, typographers, logo designers, and other creative types share small screenshots that show their work, process, and current projects.
2. Behance
The leading online platform to showcase & discover creative work. The creative world updates their work in one place to broadcast it widely and efficiently. Companies explore the work and access talent on a global scale.
3. FFFFOUND!
FFFFOUND! is a web service that not only allows the users to post and share their favorite images found on the web, but also dynamically recommends each user’s tastes and interests for an inspirational image-bookmarking experience.
4. Graphic Exchange by Mr Cup
The Graphic Exchange is an photo rich blog curated by Fabien Barral. It contains really beautiful examples of packaging design that break the mould of conformity and commercialism.
5. Creattica
Creattica is a gallery of great design and inspirational imagery. Anyone can submit their work for consideration and voting on items is open to one and all. The best work is accepted and featured in the gallery which receives thousands of visitors every day.
