We all know that churches are on fixed budgets and can’t afford Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Creative Cloud subscriptions for everyone in the office. Sometimes you need to quickly edit a photo or create a graphic and you need an free alternative to Photoshop that can get the job done quickly and easily  Here are a list of four free alternatives to Adobe Photoshop.

1. GIMP

GIMP is a powerful image-editing software application that is 100% free. There is full support for layers, masks, brush controls and even third-party plugins that give it even more power. Give this cross-platform application a spin when you need the power of Photoshop and there is no copy in sight.

2. Pixlr

Pixlr is an online photo editor that allows you to manipulate a photo or image right in your browser without downloading any software. Easily crop, resize, rotate, color correct, blur, add effects, overlay text and make other other adjustments with a snap. You will be surprised how many punches this web application packs.

3. Picasa

Picasa is Google’s cross-platform photo organization, editing and sharing application. Even though it is not as powerful as Photoshop, it has loads of useful features for photographers like side by side editing, photo effects and standard editing tools.

4. Fotor

Fotor is my secretly little weapon for very specific image creation. Even though this service is pretty good for making one off photo edits, HDR images and Banner ads, where it really shines is creating collages. What would take you hours to complete in Photoshop, Fotor can whip up in a couple of minutes without even breaking a sweat.

Two other honorable mentions are Sumopaint and StylePix.
